VERY LARGE ROMAN THICK GLASS BOTTLE (UNGUENTARIUM) WITH GROOVED BODY, SECOND HALF OF 1ST CENTURY C.E.
Fleming/University of Pennylvania Pl. 43, 18cm height (7+ inches!), 7cm diameter at base, Excellent intact condition, green bottle of thick glass, long neck, flat rim, lathe cut groove around the body and concave underneath; small areas with silverish blue and golden patina. Found in the Levante - Holyland area. This glass would have been produced +/- a few years of the destruction of the Temple.
