AUGUST DER JUNGERE, BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBUTTEL, GERMAN STATES AR THALER, 1687 "HAUSKNECHSTALER"
Welter 822, Davenport 6341, Very Fine, 44.8mm, 28.52 grams, dated 1658 HS, Zellerfeld Mint

Rare date and an attractive example of a scarcer Reichstaler!
"Hausknechtstaler" (lit. house servant) is a derogatory term for the coins on which the wild man holds the fir tree horizontally in front of him, like a broom with which he wants to sweep.
