Obverse: Helmeted head of Athena to right, countermark "Aleph" (of Ashkelon) in center.
Reverse: Owl to right, olive spray and crescent left, AOE downward in right field
Both Ashkelon and Gaza were important maritime port cities. Exceptionally RARE - This is the FIRST coin of the type we have seen or handled!
