Coin: Hendin 6652, RPC 4672A, HGC 10, 357, Very Fine+, light toning, a few fine scratches, 22.7mm, approx. 13 - 14 grams, Struck Circa. 47/48 C.E.

Obverse: Laureate head of Melqart, wearing knotted lionskin around neck

Reverse: Eagle standing left with right foot on prow of ship, palm branch over right shoulder, date POΓ (year 173 - 47/48 C.E.) and club in field to left, KP above monogram to right, Phoenician letter "Aleph" between legs, TYPOY IEPAΣ KAI AΣYΛOY (OF TYRE THE HOLY AND INVIOLABLE) around

Pendant: 14K, 32.7mm diameter, 39.9mm height including suspension loop.

These were the Shekel coins used in the Temple in Jerusalem, hence the artwork being set in a gold Temple. A beautiful piece suitable for both men and women. The pendant was created by Abner and Levine, famous ancient coin jewelry designers who took extra care to create pressure settings with a wall around the coin, so that the coin is not damaged.
